Riverport Awarded Equipment Grants

The Henderson County Riverport Authority is excited to announce that it has been awarded grants to go towards the purchase of new equipment.

Two grants awarded by the Kentucky Department of Transportation are being used towards the purchase of a 15,500 lb. and 12,000 lb. forklift. These new machines will replace aged out units that have served the port well for many years. Taylor Machine Works, Inc. was awarded the contract for both units.

In addition to the state grants, the port was also awarded a fiscal year 2024 grant totaling $150,430.81 through the Delta Regional Authority’s State Economic Development Assistance Program for the purchase of a 9,000 lb. forklift and a skid steer. Like the other new forklifts, the 9,000 lb. unit will be replacing an aged-out machine, while the skid steer will be an addition to our skid steer fleet. The contract for the forklift was awarded to Equipment Depot, while the skid steer was awarded to Boyd CAT.

The Riverport would like to thank the Kentucky Department of Transportation and the Delta Regional Authority for funding our projects. New, state-of-the-art equipment like those being purchased will help ensure the Riverport can continue to provide best in class service for our customers.
